It has been awhile, but I have good reason not to have posted since mid-August. I am now a working mother!
I debated all summer whether or not to join the work force again. Was it the right decision? How would my children handle it? How would I handle it?
Finally, I started to really do a job search. No stress or pressure. I just wanted to get a taste of what was out there. I wanted something close to home, that I really enjoyed, and would not be as stressful as previous jobs. After a month of searching I finally found exactly what I had been searching for.
I am now an Academy Director of a child learning center that is close to my home. I will, once again, be with children from birth to kindergarten and I could not be happier. I will be focusing on creating a training program as well as revamping the curriculum. This year will be challenging, but I will still have hours that will allow me to be with my children.
My younger son will be coming to work with me. They have a wonderful infant room that I fell in love with. My older son will be attending a different school and I will be able to pick him up by 4:30.
The mornings are more hectic than usual with two children and getting ready for a job, but so far it has been manageable. My children are fine with it. It is more organizing myself so that I can look presentable, while making sure everyone is dressed and fed. Yes, it is hard feeding the baby a bottle while blow drying my hair! But every once in a while he pulls the bottle out of his mouth to smile at me. It makes my morning.
Thank goodness I have a husband who is encouraging and flexible. Daddy has been able to help with feeding the baby and he brings Max to kindergarten. My entire family has been amazing with helping with the transition. I could not have done any of this without them.
I am so happy!
